Cast on 200 stitches with
a medium weight yarn from the skein, size 7us; 4.5mm
needles. I used circulars, 32" for this
project. After casting on, knit one more row
with this yarn, when turning for the third row, purl
10 then pull a cut yarn from the Ziploc. Cut a
2" tail from the first yarn, then tie in a square
knot with the new yarn. Continue on in
stockinette stitch until 12" long (knit right side,
purl wrong side).
Tips: I will reach in the bag to choose yarn, then tie up to ten lengths rather than tying together at the stitch as in the first yarn change above. Don't worry about weaving in yarns, that will become a part of the design (or not, your choice), but it will be easily remedied if you choose not to have the yarns visible.
I won't be posting the final installment for two weeks. 07/27
