On Springtime, anew.

I haven’t updated in a couple of weeks, so I thought I would send a little eye candy from the garden. You can almost smell the iris through your screen, can’t you? I wish I would have also dug up some other colors of bearded iris from my mom’s garden. The new owners have probably dug up that area of the garden and tossed the rhizomes… they were old colors too.
Oh well. At least every time I walk by the iris that I have, I am taken back home to my childhood.
The front yard is a haven… now on to the backyard. That’ll be 50% finished by the end of this summer, most of the work will be in our deck that Kevin is in the process of replacing.
I am wondering if we’ll ever get to the point of saying… “we’re done!”. But you know, I have been thinking about it quite a bit. We may have moved in to an older home, but the updates we’ve done have been because it’s what we wanted, instead of settling for what a builder was able to cut cost on. I’m not sure I ever want to go back to a regular hot water tank, I love our windows and doors (high-range), and I can’t wait for my kitchen to be installed. Our front porch is my absolute favorite, and I really like our new roof.
So I guess being “in progress” for 9 years hasn’t been so bad, we’ve been able to do a little bit each year to our statisfaction. Though, the list seems never ending!
Welcome to my blog--it is mainly craft related, but it is a mixture of miscellaneous happenings as well. I live in the great Pacific Northwest, happily, rain and all! I am a multi-tasker by trade, enjoy quilting along with some beading, knitting, and general fiber art when I get a wild hair. I am also a homeschooling parent, but will likely not write much on that here. Enjoy!
